> See bus changes in your area here
On Saturday 13 June, Trondheim and the surrounding region will be filled with true Tour de France atmosphere as L’Étape Trondheim by Tour de France takes place. Thousands of cyclists, spectators, volunteers and partners will come together for a major celebration of cycling, and to ensure a safe and smooth experience for everyone, temporary traffic regulations will be introduced along the route.
L’Étape Trondheim is held on closed and regulated roads, giving participants a safe race experience while allowing spectators to cheer on the riders along the course. Traffic management is planned in cooperation with the police, the Norwegian Public Roads Administration and relevant emergency services.
Why will roads be closed?
When a large number of cyclists are on the course at the same time, parts of the road network need to be regulated for limited periods. This is done to ensure the safety of riders, spectators, volunteers and other road users.
The closures are temporary and mainly apply while the race passes through each area. Traffic marshals and event staff will be present to support safe and controlled traffic flow where possible.
How this may affect you
If you live, work, run a business or plan to travel near the route on the day of the event, we recommend allowing extra time and planning your journey in advance.
The traffic regulations may affect:
- access to and from certain areas
- deliveries and transport
- customer traffic to businesses along the route
- parking and local driving routes during affected periods
- public transport and local diversions
Emergency services will have access at all times.
