L'Étape Trondheim is for everyone

Do you want to take part in L’Étape Trondheim by Tour de France, but need an adaptive bike to join? This June, you have the chance!

On 13 June 2026, L’Étape Trondheim comes to Trondheim. Quality Care is collaborating with L’Étape Trondheim to make the event accessible to people with disabilities as well. Quality Care will provide a limited number of Pino Steps tandem bikes and support staff.

Do you want to take part in L’Étape Trondheim?

Quality Care has 10 free entries, which will be allocated by draw among those who register their interest.

To enter the draw, register your interest directly with Quality Care.

Deadline for registering interest: 1 June
Email: post@quality-care.no
Phone: 970 970 71

Quality Care will help you assess what might suit you and what is practically possible on race day.

Who can register interest?

This offer is for people with disabilities who would like to take part in L’Étape Trondheim.

It may be suitable for you if you:

● are unable to cycle safely on a regular bike
● have reduced muscle strength or endurance
● have balance challenges
● have reduced vision or are blind
● need a companion rider while cycling
● require hand propulsion or another adaptation
● want to take part in a cycling event, but need the right bike and support to make it possible

What adaptive bikes will Quality Care provide?

Quality Care will provide Hase Pino Steps bikes. This is an electric tandem bike where the person at the back steers, brakes and controls the bike.

The person at the front can pedal independently, contribute partly, or simply sit back and enjoy the ride. This makes the Pino Steps well suited for people who cannot cycle alone, but who still want to take an active part.

The bike can be adapted to different needs. For some, hand propulsion may be relevant. For others, it may be about finding the right seating position, support, sense of safety, or a solution that makes it possible to cycle together with a companion.

If you have a family member or friend who would like to join as your companion rider, that is very welcome. If this is not possible, Quality Care will provide companion riders. Quality Care’s support staff will help ensure a safe and positive experience.

How the draw works and what happens next

When you register your interest, Quality Care will add you as a potential participant in the draw.

After the entries have been allocated, those selected will receive further information. Quality Care will then go through practical details, adaptation needs, registration and follow-up.

Practical matters such as meeting point, race number, companion riders, distance and race-day organisation will be clarified in more detail.

Why Quality Care is involved

Quality Care works with adaptive bikes for children, young people and adults across Norway. They know how much of a difference the right bike can make in everyday life, whether it is for leisure, exercise, transport or taking part in activities together with others.

The collaboration with L’Étape Trondheim is a concrete way for Quality Care to put its motto into practice: a sense of mastery through activity for everyone. When the right equipment, adaptations and support are in place, more people can take part in experiences that might otherwise have seemed out of reach.

For Quality Care, this is about giving everyone the opportunity to participate. When people with disabilities can take part in an ordinary cycling event, something important happens. The focus shifts from limitation to participation. From the sidelines to the start line. From “it can’t be done” to “how can we make it happen?”
