General Provisions of participating in L'Etape Trondheim cycling event
General Terms and Conditions for L'Etape Trondheim
1. General
These terms and conditions apply to L'Etape Trondheim, a cycling event inspired by the Tour de France. By registering for L'Etape Trondheim, you accept these terms and conditions.
2. Binding Registration
The entry to L'Etape Trondheim is binding. This means that a payment obligation arises upon registration, and you are added to the race’s participant list. There will be no refund of entry fees, license, or payments for other products if you are prevented from participating, including due to illness or injury.
3. Selling Your Bib
All entries to L'Etape Trondheim are personal, and for security reasons, it is not allowed to let others participate in your name. You have the opportunity to sell your bib, but you are responsible for finding a buyer. The bib will be sold at the current market price at the time of sale.
4. Personal Information
For L'Etape Trondheim to deliver high-quality result lists and offer the best possible service, we must store selected personal information in our database. This includes name, club membership, gender, date of birth, address, phone number, and email. This information is used to ensure correct age group registration, keep participant lists free of duplicates, send registration confirmations and participant permits, send SMS with start number and start time, send other relevant event information, identify participants in case of injuries or accidents, and prepare and publish result lists.
5. Altered or Cancelled Race
We reserve the right to cancel the race, change the racecourse, change the start time/date, and/or change other conditions necessary for the race to be held due to circumstances beyond our control, for safety or health reasons, or if we are not granted the necessary official permissions. In such cases, we will refund the registration fee, but not the administration fee, license, or other purchased products.
6. Force Majeure
L'Etape Trondheim can be cancelled on short notice due to force majeure, defined as 45 days or less before the event date. If the event is cancelled due to force majeure, the race will not be rescheduled, and the registration fee, other fees, license, or other orders will not be refunded.
7. Participation Conditions
To take part in L'Etape Trondheim, participants must meet the following conditions:
- Age: Participants must be 17 years of age or older.
8. Bib Collection
Bibs must be collected by the participant or their legal representative with the necessary documents and a valid official identity document. Bibs can only be collected at the designated area and times.
9. Official Jury, Chronometry, and Ranking
The official jury is made up of a referee and judges. The event is timed, and participants will be ranked based on their official time. The first three women and men to cross the finish line will be rewarded.
10. Respect of the Start Waves
Participants must start in their allocated waves. Failure to do so may result in time penalties or exclusion from the event.
11. Feeding Points and Assistance
Feeding points will be set up at different locations along the race course. Personal assistance is limited to these points, and no following vehicles are permitted. Technical assistance is allowed between participants.
12. Insurance
The organiser has taken out insurance covering civil liability. Participants can take out optional cancellation and individual accident insurance.
A license is mandatory to participate in all types of cycling races with an organiser affiliated with the Norwegian Cycling Federation (NCF). It includes a small accident insurance. For the annual license, the insurance covers accidents during all cycling activities as well as accidents while travelling to and from cycling races. The license is administered by the Norwegian Cycling Federation.
You can either purchase a one-time license or an active license. The one-time license is purchased when you register for the race. Annual licenses can be ordered by members of an NCF-approved club/team that has paid the annual membership fee to the club/team.
13. Use of Images
Participants authorise the organiser to use their image for communication and promotional purposes without remuneration.
14. Personal Data
Personal data will be processed in accordance with the organiser's data protection policy. Participants' results, photos, and videos may be published on the event website.
15. Respect for the Environment
Participants must not leave rubbish on the course and must use designated bins. Failure to comply may result in time penalties or exclusion from the event.
16. Mandatory, Authorised, Recommended, and Prohibited Equipment
Participants must wear a rigid helmet and are advised to bring a repair kit. It is prohibited to use bicycles with extension elements, recumbent bikes, non-approved bikes, or electric bikes.
17. Anti-Doping
Participants must comply with anti-doping regulations and may be subject to tests.
18. Modification, Report, Interruption, Cancellation
The organiser reserves the right to modify the route, feeding points, and chronometry points, postpone the event, stop the event in progress, or cancel it without liability.
19. Additional Races and Related Events
Participants may take part in additional races and related events organised by the organiser. The same terms and conditions apply to these events.
